Nigeria ranked 4th African Country by Military Strength

The Global Firepower list for 2019 puts the military powers of the world into full perspective. The ranking considers over 55 factors to determine the Power Index score of countries.

Following Egypt, Algeria & South Africa, Nigeria ranks 4th in Africa and 44th in the World by Military Strength in 2019.

Ethiopia, Angola, Morocco, Sudan, DR Congo and Libya were ranked 5th-10th in Africa by military strength.

Affording to Global Firepower, the ranking does not solely rely on total number of weapons available to one country; there is also a focus on weapon diversity.

Nuclear weapons or stockpiles were were not taken into account; recognized or suspected nuclear powers are given a bonus. Logistical flexibility, geographical factors, natural resources and local industry influenced the ranking.
