In 2019, Boko Haram activities are increasing in Nigeria

According to a recent report by Norwegian NGO ACAPS, there has been an increase in Boko Haram activities in Nigeria and Chad this year especially in the month of March 2019.

While the Nigerian government still insists that “Boko Haram is technically defeated”, Nigeria is still listed on the global emergency overview report as one of the top countries in severe humanitarian crisis from February 2019 till date.

February 2019 UN report estimated ISWAP (Boko Haram) fighter strength between 1500-3500 in the tri-border area of the Lake Chad basin. ISWAP has improved its financial standing.

Nigerian journalist Ahmed Salkida who reports on the conflict in the north east took to Twitter on the 2nd of April 2019 saying he would no longer report on the conflict.
