Female and more unveiling in Abuja

Female and more, an online platform and initiative of Youngstars foundation which primarily builds self esteem among young females across Africa was unveiled in Abuja today, 9th October, 2020 at Rockview Royale hotel, Wuse 2 Abuja.

The event was well attended by notable women including, Nigeria’s minister of women’s affairs – Pauline Tallen; represented by Funke Oladipo as well as a representative of the Head of Service, UN women rep, a representative of the association of women with disabilities, amongst others.

A panel discussion was engaged with the intergenerational audience at the event. Amongst the panelists were Maryam Usman – presenter of ChatMariy podcast, Mrs Abiodun Essiet – Special adviser to the Honourable Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council and Helen Beyioku Alase – the chairlady of the deaf women association of Nigeria.

According to Kingsley Bangwell of Youngstars foundation, Self esteem is crucial to womanity, women development and gender equality. Women and girls cannot achieve success unless they believe in themselves beyond the society’s patriarchal norms and conventional roles.  Many young females including those with disability  have benefited from this self esteem boosting project.
